VBS, Family, Friends, Father's Day, and a Fun Trip with Daddy

We kicked off June with a week at our church's VBS.  Which was amazing.. and the boys loved it this year.  900 kiddos. Hundreds of selfless servants.. and one awesome Kids Ministry staff.    A bonus for the boys?? Their best friends came with them!

And on the last day Big Poppa & Gamma headed out to visit us for some fun and to help mommy.  The boys were out of school for a week so we were more than grateful they were able to come and help.   By Friday afternoon of VBS though, these were some tired tired boys.

As a Father's Day treat for Big Poppa, the boys took him to the Astros game...

Game time!

The most important are the snacks.

And while they were here they got to jump in the middle of our bathroom renovations.  Seriously such good sports.  When they arrived their bathroom only had a shower & toilet so we were all sharing the down stairs 1/2 bath for brushing!  Before they left though the vanity arrived and it was a fully operational bathroom.

We had reason to celebrate too!  Gamma is officially retired after 36 years in the school system as a speech pathologist.. and every retiree .. especially those that live in Florida need good beach chairs!

We were sad to see them leave but I know they were exhausted!  We rolled right into celebrating Father's Day around here..

Treating dad to bagels and lox his favorite breakfast

So proud of our dad and all his hard work on the field.  Honored him with FINALLY getting all those shirts his sweet momma saved made into a special quilt.

And daddy's post church lunch request??  BBQ and ice cream of course
For the 4th of July, our church hosts a huge outreach called Celebrate Freedom.  I knew that I was going to be working so Justin and the boys hit the road to Louisiana to visit our friends the Seeligers and their wild & crazy boy crew.

A stop at Buccee's for donuts AND M & M's

And boy did I miss those little firecrackers.. although I celebrated with 8,000!  The boys had a great time with daddy and then even stopped to make me really jealous for some beignets on the way back.

The good news is.. they saved some sugar for me! Summertime is really so sweet!

Love,
