Eli & Beckett Globe Ceremony

We kicked off the weekend birthday celebration with a "globe ceremony" at the boys school.  I really wish I knew why it was called that but unfortunately when it came down to participate neither of my little ones wanted too!  It starts early in the week.  The parents turn in birthday posters to display at the school for birthday week and during the globe ceremony.  Whew.  I worked HARD on these posters.  The hardest part was selecting pictures.  I kept getting lost going through hundreds of pictures since the day there were born trying to narrow them down.. and crying.  And crying some more.

When we got there the teacher had all the little ones sitting in a circle.  The posters were in the middle with hats the boys made for their party.  There was a circle on the ground around a candle (battery) and a small globe.  After much prodding, dragging, and crying we finally get the boys to sit with me by the teacher.  She tries to hand them the globe, they wanted nothing to do with it.  So in theory what should happen or I think anyway is the boys get the globe, the walk the circle while she reads the papers I wrote about the boys memorable moments the last 2 years (also worked hard on those.. oh well!)  Eli at least "blew" our the fake candle, Beckett just screamed when she got near him with the candle. After that the little ones sang Happy Birthday to the boys.

At least the cookies turned out good!  The bakery that made them is awesome (there was no way I was stressing myself that bad!) Elmo and Cookie Monster of course!  Yummo!  The little tiny voices in the room were so cute.. "eat elmo eat elmo"

It was short, it was kinda stressful, it was sugary, it was sweet!  Now off to San Antonio for BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!!
